Conductor, vocalist, organist, and collaborative artist Lorraine Mihaliak is trained as a classical performer, but her interests span a variety of genres and styles. Her recent work includes conducting and producing movements for the award-winning Opera Notre Dame and touring the US and Israel as the chorus master for the Notre Dame Folk Choir’s Passion Project, an original composition and semi-staged performance of Christ’s Passion. As an organist, Lorraine specializes in Baroque and early music and has given recitals in Boston, Philadelphia, Worcester, and Hartford. She received her training at the College of the Holy Cross as the school’s Organ Scholar and then completed her Masters degree in choral conducting at the University of Notre Dame.
Lorraine recently accepted the role of Director of Music at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Waterbury, Connecticut, where she is building a new music program for the church in connection with the Fr. Michael McGivney Center and the Catholic Academy of Waterbury.
